“ I was skeptical about the lamb gyro with everything, and by everything it means having fries in your gyro! But it was really tasty and HUGE! I just managed to finish half of my gyro and saved the other half for lunch. Also must try are the fried eggplant chips! ”
“ I haven't been here in a while, but Deb and I used to come here semi-regularly when it was Mission Grounds, which was a pretty similar proposition to the Crepevine--i.e., crepes, omelettes, sandwiches, and so on, served up tasty and fairly cheap-like. Before the umption ran out of our gumption for getting over to the Mission for breakfast, we made it over here one more time to find out it had become Al Fanous, and the menu was--interestingly enough--almost completely preserved, with some Middle Eastern/Mediterranean items added for variety. Same counter where you place your order, same rough-hewn but spacious booths--good for crowding small groups into. The prices were the same and the food still seemed to be as good as ever, and the hearty sides of home fries were as generous as ever...all in all, a remarkable continuation of service considering the place appeared to be under entirely new management. About the only really striking change was evidenced by the conspicuous hookas placed on the outside tables bordering the sidewalk--from which customers are apparently able to enjoy fine Turkish tobacco now after their brunch. Hm. I'm very curious now, after writing this, to brave the Mission's traffic and parking again for some breakfast... ”
